The Concord girls' basketball team beat Jay M. Robinson 71-68 Tuesday night at home to take the lead in the South Piedmont Conference (SPC).
The Spiders (13-5, 8-0), who have won the last two SPC crowns, were the first team this season to knock off the Bulldogs, who are now 16-1, 7-1.
Charlotte signee Nyshia Hammonds led the way for the Spiders, while Jhemelia Edwards notched her 1,000th career point for Concord.
Concord and Robinson meet again at the Bulldogs gym one week from today.
