Five SPC teams reach 3A volleyball playoffs

Five South Piedmont Conference teams were selected to play in the  N.C. High School Athletic Association 3A volleyball playoffs. 

The SPC's top five teams - No. 1 Hickory Ridge, No. 2 Cox Mill, No. 3 Mount Pleasant, No. 4 Concord and No. 5 Northwest Cabarrus - will start play in the postseason tournament Saturday.

Here are the draws for local teams, which are highlighted:

No. 4 Concord (10-11) at No. 1 North Iredell (24-0)

No. 3 Mount Pleasant (13-9) at No. 2 Berry Academy (15-4)

No. 4 Asheboro (11-13) at No. 2 Cox Mill (18-6)

No. 5 Morehead (12-10) at No. 1 Hickory Ridge (20-4)

No. 5 Northwest Cabarrus (9-11) at No. 1 Charlotte Catholic (21-5)
